Fleischmann on Treasury $20 Redesign

Statement

Date: April 21, 2016
Location: Washington, DC

"The U.S. Treasury's decision to replace Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill is unnecessary. It is important, however, to remember this should not be considered a Harriet Tubman versus Jackson controversy. We are lucky to have a rich history of outstanding individuals who worked hard to make our nation great. Andrew Jackson will continue to be a pillar of that history and his legacy is one that will never be forgotten. He was a patriot, a Tennessean, and a president the common man could stand by," said Fleischmann.
